How do the services work?
The Anti-Virus Service simply passes each email through an enterprise
grade anti-virus server here at Adelaide-OnLine, which is updated automatically
for new viruses every day.
Our Anti-Spam Service intercepts incoming emails addressed to your employees.
It runs a number of Rules Tests against the email. Points are assigned
for each time an email fails one of the Rules Tests.
Reasons emails fail a Rules Test and get defined as Spam
Email
contains the words "Opt In" or "Opt Out"
Email
contains the word "FREE"
Email
uses unnecessarily large numbers of exclamation marks
Email
does not have a real name in the reply address
Email
has a fake reply email address
There
are over 600 Rules against which the email is tested
What
happens to Spam
If
a sufficient number of rules are failed, the email is defined as Spam.
The email will sent on with '*****SPAM*****' in the Subject line
Adjust
the sensitivity
If
you feel Spam is still getting through, you can increase its sensitivity
Current
Threshold

The
lower the number, the fewer Rules Tests need to be failed, before the
email get labelled Spam.
What
next
Once
you are happy the Spam sensitivity is blocking unwanted email, and not
email from friends, you can filter all your Spam Emails into your Trash.
Open the offending email
Choose
"Actions" from the top tool bar in your email software
Choose
"Create Rule"
Choose
the conditions that says "with *****SPAM***** in subject line"
Move
email to Inbox > Trash

you have difficulty with this process, don't forget you get unlimited
technical support at Adelaide-OnLine.
Other
options
If
you find one of your friends tends to write emails that get defined as
Spam, you can add their email address to a Whitelist. Their emails will
not get stopped.If
you want someone to be caught by the Spam Filter, but their emails are
not failing the Tests, you can add their email address to a Blacklist.
